Oven Cooked Golden Syrup Pudding

Oven Cooked
Golden Syrup
Pudding

This recipe was originally intended to be a steamed pudding, however it still was moist and delicious.
I bought a pudding steamer foolishly thinking that that was all I would need, however I learnt that I also needed a very large pot to accommodate it. I had already invested my time so I thought I'll just try baking it and see how I go. It was as I said delicious so I wanted to give you the recipe and my tips to try and achieve what I did.

Ingredients: 1/2  Cup Golden Syrup                                         2       Eggs
125  Grams of Butter                                           1 1/2 Cups Self Raising Flour
1/2  Cup Caster Sugar                                        2/3   Cup Milk

Now firstly; grease your pudding tin and preheat your oven to 150 degrees

Pour Golden Syrup into base of pudding tin

Beat Sugar and Butter until creamy

Then add Egg one at a time

Add Milk and Flour alternating as adding

Pour mix into pudding tin and allow shake slightly so that the mix settles

Cover with Aluminum foil

Optional: Place a cake tray full of water on the bottom shelf

Cook up to 45 minutes or until skewer/knife/fork is clean.

*Because this recipe was originally intended to be steamed,  I placed a spare cake tin full of water in the oven to help keep moisture in the oven. I would suggest filling tin right to the top and topping up if necessary.

Serve with cream and enjoy!!
Good Luck! Hope this helps.
